






Vintage 1928 Mills 5¢ "1776 Liberty Bell" Goose-Neck Front Vendor Slot Machine - Original Working Condition. This machine has its original paint, oak cabinet, reel strips, and Mills instruction decal on the back door. Authentic cast aluminum front with FOK 1873 foundry marking. Original fortune reel strips and payout mechanism.

Includes working keyed back door lock (replacement). A fine example of Mills' craftsmanship during the golden age of coin-operated machines-still ready to play after nearly a century! Been restored or repainted-perfect for collectors who prefer honest originality.
Some isopropyl has been used to clean the coin track and applied by hand to some areas where there showed accumulation of years of dust settlement. Some oil has been lightly applied to pins, etc for smoother operation. The cabinet wood has been left in original unvarnished state. Metal has been simply wiped clean without. The 3 glass windows for the reel display are original. One is slightly cracked but there is also an extra original replacement piece stored inside the cabinet. 26" H × 16" W × 15 D. Back-Story: The story told to me was that this slot machine was one of many gaming machines that my grandfather used to service in nightclubs in Wichita, Ks. Until it was hidden away in the house attic where it had been stored during the years of being illegal to have one in your personal possession. Mills Novelty Company, Chicago, Illinois. "1776 Liberty Bell" Front Vendor (Goose-Neck casting type). This machine represents one of Mills Novelty Company's patriotic "1776 Liberty Bell" series, produced at the height of the company's mechanical innovation era. The casting mark FOK 1873 corresponds with genuine Mills foundry mold numbers used between 1928 and 1932. The presence of the original instruction decal and factory reel strips confirm the authenticity of this example.
