BALLY RELIANCE DICE CASH PAY-OUT SLOT MACHINE(made between 1935 and 1937--actual patent was granted to BALLY on July 9, 1935 as a COIN CONTROLLED DICE MACHINE). This fully automatic pay-out slot machine actually plays the game of craps.
(just as in a CASINO DICE GAME, the player is gambling against the house and gets paid by the machine for winning combinations). After depositing 5 cents into the coin slot, the player pulls the handle. The dice appear to shakea noise like the well known(CACKLE of real DICE) is heard and two dice are tossed out of the left side window under the glass(there are two windows). If the roll is a 7 or 11 the shooter is an immediate winner and the machine pays out.If a 2, 3 or 12 come up in the left window, the player is an immediate loser(all dice players know that when these numbers appear on the first roll, it is called CRAPS and the player loses). Any other number that is rolled is called THE POINT and the shooter then pulls the handle again and this time the dice come out of the right window. The shooter continues pulling the handle until the point is made or a 7 is rolled and then the shooter craps out.
If four consecutive 7's or 11's are rolled by the player on the first roll, he then wins a special jackpot and a golden award token comes out and is redeemed for a jackpot prize. The Bally Reliance Crap machine was only made between 1935 and 1937 and to have one in un-touched and working condition is extremely rare. If you are a serious collector, you would be hard pressed to find a machine this nice. The machine will be packed in a heavy cardboard new box and the machine will be wrapped in bubble and surrounded by foam(i get 4 in foam from a local upholsterer---see photo).
