AMAZING ORIGINAL 1938 JENNINGS 5c AIRPLANE CHIEF with SECURITY STAND! WATCH VIDEO

For sale is an amazing all ORIGINAL and complete 1938 O. Called the Airplane Chief, this machine was actually a custom private order model.

After the customer backed out of the deal when the machines were finished, Jennings was forced to sell these at discounted prices. While relatively few of these machines were made it did take Jennings years to finally get rid of them. Today these machines do not appear on the market often and are quite interesting in their style and background story.

This machine is also quite special in that it is factory original! Finding machines like this today is quite unusual. The machine a bright look while still being factory original. The original paint is present on the castings, original finish on the oak cabinet, Jennings decals still intact, back door with replacement lock, cash box, reel strips, award card, glass, inspection tag, glass, mechanism - all present and original! In fact, this machines lower casting was made from a front vendor Jennings model.

The factory installed plates on the lower front to cover up the vendor compartments. There is even a plug on the right side of the cabinet where a vendor knob would have been. The inside of the back bonnet does have what appears to be a steel strap or bar secured in.

This was possibly installed if the inside lip of the bonnet was damaged. We have a photo above of this area.

This would represent the only modification made to the machine and was probably done while in operation. The original inspection tag on the inside is clear and stamped with the name and serial number. The same serial number can be found on the mechanism and outside of the cabinet. For unusual and original machines like this, those matching serial numbers are important!

Nation's Attic has given this machine a full tune-up and tested to ensure every function is working properly. The machine is sitting on its original metal security stand. The machine can easily slide out the back and just about any other 1930's era machine will fit into it if so desired. The stand has a round opening on the back where a lock can be installed inside the stand to secure it in.
