This is a 1963 Pace 10 cent slot machine. Most of these slots all came out of Harvey's casino in Lake Tahoe, and were originally red, as this one was. All the machines sat on a common counter with the cash tray below. Mine was repainted blue and the reels strips replaced for "Eddie's Fabulous 50's" casino. Eddie's was located on route 40 in Reno and is now closed as well.
When these slots were taking out of service, they had to have a small stand added. Mine, like others, had the top candle and some electric stuff (old door alarms, etc) removed. The last owner of mine just used a pie tin to catch the dimes! Harvey's was notable for a bombing in 1980 that damaged the hotel after an attempt to disarm it.Many of the slots survived to live on! Mine has definitely had some metal-work done inside. There is a chance this machine was in that blast. I also added a locking door in the back, so it's a little more authentic looking.
The machine plays and pays out, however the third reel is a little wobbly. It's small but quite heavy. If you make an offer, please be serious and. Up on a possible counter offer.I'm just trying to sell this for a fair price considering the work I put into adding the locking cash box.
