Up for sale with NO reserve is a rarely seen antique slot machine from 1932. This nickel machine was made by the Vendet Manufacturing Company and is called the Midget. The name is quite appropriate as this little guy is one of the smallest slot machines ever made! Coming in at 15 tall, this all aluminum case machine is easy to move around and display.
Dice examples like this one are a bit more difficult to find. The machine itself works great! Nation's Attic has given it a tune-up and testing. At some point in the machines life the aluminum cabinet was polished out.
There still retains some shine to the aluminum. If someone took the time to re-polish the castings this machine would really be brilliant! There are no cracks or breaks in the castings. The machines serial #1399 is clear and present on the top. We did install a new and factory correct award card on the front. There is a old award card behind the one we installed as well. The mechanism retains the original dice reel strips - which is quite rare! The mechanism is very clean and as we mentioned, works great. The mechanism slides in and out of the cabinet with ease. The aluminum back door lifts up and out without a problem either. Currently there is no lock on the back door. Four old flat head screws are stlll present to install just about any cabinet lock you like. This is the 1st Midget slot we have had in 15 years - they just didn't make many of them - especially with the very cool dice reels. Very few slot machines were made with just two reels and featuring such a fancy all aluminum cabinet like this. If you have any questions please feel free to ask!
