Wailing Rol-A-Top, original in original Watling Stand
Here is a machine that you don't see very often. It is a Watling Rol-A-Top with the Tic-Tac-Toe feature. Collecting antique slots for over 30 years and have seen a grand total of 4 of these (including this one) in those 30+ years. It comes in an original steel Watling stand. This machine is NOT restored, it is original. It was missing a jackpot lever. I was able to get a replacement from a reputable collector. The part is not original but a high quality replacement. I have not gone through the machine except to make sure it works.

This machine is most appropriate for the collector who appreciates machines that are in original condition and also someone who is looking for somewhat rare machines. It is a good example of a survivor and original slot machines are appreciating in value much more than restored machines are.

Once you restore a machine you can never get it back to original condition. It looks to be all original. For some reason, the paint has been removed from the base.

I have included a photo of the machine outside of the stand. When in the stand this is not noticeable at all.

The silver reel strips are correct for the Tic-Tac-Toe Rol-A-Top. Top is a machine that does not come up very often.

The lock on the back door is not original and I do not have the key but it can be opened with a screwdriver. The lock on the stand is original with the original key. I have not gone through the machine.

I have put a few coins in it and confirmed it pays out when a winner is hit. The machine has been sitting a LONG time and should probably be gone through and lubricated. Note, this is different than restoring it. If you want to ask the experts about this machine (or any slot machine for that matter) then go to the CoinOpCollectorForum site and post a message in the Just Chatting area. As you know, original Rol-A-Top machines do not come up very often. Original Watling stands with original lock are also pretty scarce. If you are going to be in Vegas on 1/28/2017 then I "might" be able to arrange to have the machine there. Send me a message to discuss this if you are interested. I forgot to include that there is no cashbox with the machine.

Cash boxes are commonly missing from slot machines. A missing cash box just means the coins will drop into the compartment which holds the box.

An old cigar (or similar sized) box can be used to catch the coins. I have also added a picture of the machine out of the cabinet.
