This wonderful golden oak cased slot / vending machine was apparently designed to pay players in gum. Even though it is stamped in two places MFCD BY WIS NOVELTY CO.

And has decals on both sides saying: Wisconsin Novelty Co / Fon du Lac Wisconsin , it was in fact made by the O. Of Chicago, one of the nations biggest slot machine makers. Jennings logo (an entwined ODJ) cast into the cast aluminum top display plate of the machine (see photo). It also has an old paper certificate glued inside it that indicates it passed some state's regulations to be a vending machine (thus not a gambling device). In any case it is a great old machine with solid paneled quarter sawn oak front, sides and back, Both the front and the reverse have removable panels for servicing the machine.

There is a missing drawer and /or door (where the coins collected) that also would have been locked into the machine. The lock on the front panel is present but not functioning. The rear panel is locked in place by a flat bar sliding from behind the front panel. The rotating reels and the Victorian style payout chart are both original as is virtually everything else on this remarkable piece (with the exception of a few screws). The sides are 20 1/4 tall.

The machine is 15 1/4" wide and 14 1/4" deep. 10 Cent Oak Cased Slot / Gum Vending Machine c. 1920s" is in sale since Friday, September 25, 2020.
