There are several small holes in the back bonnet where various marquees were attached over the years. This was probably in service for 10 years or so, no one really knows. It has been in this "Royal Bell" slot stand since 1977.
Royal Bell of Colorado once owned this machine and had it out on actual location.... Yes in the'70's in Colorado it was legal to do this before the State lottery was formed.
It was actually played by customers and payouts were made. So the number on the top left side is an inventory number back in that day to record where this machine was.
The stand has a pull-out drawer for drinks, in front. There is an actual Mills ash try attached to the top right of the stand.
Stand is near perfect after almost 40 years. There is a locking back lower door as well as the slots locking back door. Both keys are with the machine.
The machine lock is an original mills. It has a dummy jackpot in front. Holds about 22 or 23 Ike dollars.
It also has one Fremont Hotel token in it. These GO WITH the machine. The escalator and coin tube will be emtied. The reel strips are ORIGINAL. Vinyl and have a raised texture to them.
The payout card is a newer one. The original was obviously removed at one time. This is the only non-original part on the machine.
Inside, you can see the holes drilled in the original base of the machine for coins to drop. The original mills serial# tag is also present on the lower left inside of the cabinet. It came equipped with a Mills "Light tube/Kit". It lights the reel strips and the escalator.
It plays and pays perfectly. I removed, cleaned and lubed the reel bundle. They revolve exactly the way they should and its a joy to play. Everything is just the way is should be.
The coin box is an original Mills painted the same color as many of the boxes in the 50's for Hi-Tops. Handle has an unusual yellow ball handle.
There is a tray of 100 Fremont Hotel tokens which you can see on the table next to the machine. They GO WITH the machine. All listings for antique slot machines must include the following text.Sorry but you're going to be providing your own transport on this one. United or North American blanket wrap service are going to get the job done nicely and safely. It is not very expensive. Note the last picture in the above gallery.......
It's next weeks addition. I have about 20 some machines to sell.
That's a 1950 Jennings Sun Chief NON-light up in it's original stand 10c. Only one small scratch on the left side of cabinet. Played only a little before being removed from the market in 1950.
