MILLS 1931 LION HEAD 5 CENT SLOT MACHINE Pristine

It is time to sell my Mills Lion Head slot machine with gum ball attachment. This Mills is the finest vintage machine i have ever seen. It could be in a museum! It looks and works perfectly. The colors are bright and it is full of nickels.

It was on display for longer than i can remember in my man cave. I will put it up for the recognized value and you can make an offer if you like. I hope you enjoy having this memory as i have. 26x16x21Statement of Provenance and extensive historical researchThis 1928-9 and 1930-1 Mils mechanical slot machines were manufactured by the Mills Novelty Company, located in Chicago, Ill. The machine is a nickel denomination slot. Bothe the Lion Head front and Poinsettia coin entry top plate are rare and difficult to locate in original or period condition. This machine is NOT re-manufactured, but was probably rebuilt form two separate machines in the early 30's, and as such, it is unique. I would suggest you could not find one exactly like it, especially one combined within the period of its original manufacture! During an anti-gambling movement following the stock market crash in 1929, many of these machines were destroyed. This machine seems to be a combination of a newer 1931 Lions Head and an older 1928 Poinsettia nickel slot. One thing is for sure: this machine, found and acquired in Michigan was repaired no later than the years immediately following 1931. Only original parts were used: the paint of the upper case-the Poinsettia-may have been repainted to match the coloring of the lower case. If my history is correct, then this is a one of a kind slot machine and extremely valuable, especially as an historical artifact from the Prohibition period. The quality of this machine is excellent. It eh internal mechanism is oiled and works like a charm. The coin escalator moves the nickels across the front smoothly. The front magnifying glass shows the movement of the coins.
