Matched Pair of Mills Q. T. Slot Machines

S One is a penny machine and the other plays nickels. Slot machines were introduced in about 1937 and were produced in many different fronts through about 1947. The QT was made for 1-cent, 5-cent, 10-cent and 25-cent play. The clockwork-like action is faster than full size bells assuring more plays per minute. At 36 pounds, it takes up about a square foot of counter space. It could easily be concealed in the event of a raid by law enforcement. Perhaps this is where we get the slang term operating on the Q. Payouts are fully automatic including double jackpots which alternate payout are auto-filling. This assures that there is always a loaded jackpots showing. Can manage both coins and tokens. Tokens are coin-sized but have a washer-like hole in the middle that is identified in the coin.

A lever setting sets the linkage to coin or tokens play. When the lever is set for coin play/payout, tokens that are played are captured at the coin head and sent directly to the cash box. They do not enter the payout tube. Tokens permit operation of the machine, however no payout is made for a winning combination. When the lever is set for tokens play/payout, just the opposite occurs.

Coins that are played are diverted directly to the cash box. Checks are sent to the payout tube with overflow to the jackpots and cash box.

The machine will award payouts of tokens for winning combinations for both checks and coins played. S have been in my collection for over 30 years. They have been restored and run exceptionally well.
